The Expert Oracle Application Express 2nd Edition is an excellent book for learning the Oracle Application Express version 5. The book walks you through building objects manually which gives a better understanding of the properties assigned by the "wizards" and is very readable and builds your knowledge as you work through the examples. The book is well-written and concise, and all the topics are well-presented. Although a chapter called Chapter 2: Oracle REST Data Services covers only the installation and configuration and initial creation of REST Services in Oracle ORDS and not in the APEX GUI as expected, the chapter is well-written and informative for those who want to know about ORDS and SQL Developer.
