Fiskars Log Splitter Parts & Accessories Editorial Review

The Fiskars Log Tongs are a reasonably priced tool that can successfully grip and lift logs with course, tight bark that are up to 20 inches in diameter. The tongs are also able to handle logs with smooth bark up to 12 inches in diameter, although more care may be needed to secure them. It is important to note that they are not suitable for handling split wood, and for this, you would need Lockhart's Firewood Grippers. Customers generally agree that these tongs are useful and easy to operate. They are sold in pairs, which, although not always necessary to use together, can be beneficial for longer logs. Some adjustments can be made to enhance performance, such as sharpening the points or adding rare earth magnets to the ends for pick up. The Fiskars Log Tongs come with a plastic holster that can attach to a belt, but some customers have found it to be impractical on a job site. Furthermore, several users have cautioned that it is important to wear appropriate safety gear, such as steel-toed shoes, when using this tool to avoid injury.
