LVOUP Test Indicators Editorial Review
The 33650 Engine Piston Top Dead Center Indicator Tool has garnered a positive reception among automotive enthusiasts and professionals, particularly for its practical application in determining the top dead center (TDC) of an engine. Users have highlighted its effectiveness in assisting with tasks such as resetting a distributor, where precise timing isn’t as critical. Several reviewers noted the tool's design, which integrates a whistle mechanism that activates when air is pushed through it, signaling the user when their piston has reached the compression stroke for TDC. Many have found the tool intuitive and easy to use, especially in situations where visibility is compromised, like working on RVs. The whistle’s audible cue is deemed helpful, allowing for a one-person operation without needing additional assistance. While some caution that this method might not yield exact TDC for all scenarios, they recognized its utility for general tasks and quick setups. Additional praise has been directed toward the tool’s sturdy Construction and thoughtful features, such as compatibility with various spark plug sizes and spare O rings. Overall, the tool has been described as a worthwhile investment by those who routinely perform engine work, with many stating it significantly simplifies the process of locating TDC. **
