Suspense Editorial Review

**** Dustin Blackwell’s novel, *All The Shadows We Become*, presents a thrilling blend of mystery, romance, and psychological suspense, drawing clear inspirations from well-loved series like *Stranger Things*. Set in the small, eerie town of Hollow Creek, the storyline unfolds through the eyes of Caleb, a young man recovering from a traumatic car accident in a rehabilitation facility. His peculiar experiences at the rehab center intertwine with the life of Ava, a compassionate nurse and intern, revealing an intriguing symbiosis of personal struggle and supernatural mystery. The strengths of the book lie in its engaging plot and the dynamic between the protagonists. Readers have noted that the pacing is relentless, propelling them through a series of twists that continually challenge their expectations. Caleb and Ava’s connection evolves steadily, offering a satisfying yet slow-burn romance that is skillfully interwoven with the plot's suspenseful elements. The author does a commendable job of creating tension, effectively captivating the audience through unexpected turns that keep them on the edge of their seats. While the book is rich in story and emotion, some critiques have emerged concerning the formatting and editorial aspects. Readers noted a few typos and layout issues that, if addressed, could elevate the overall reading experience. Nevertheless, these concerns do not overshadow the novel’s ability to create a vividly immersive world. Blackwall’s deft ability to evoke sensations—ranging from eerie dread to youthful passion—allow readers to connect deeply with the narrative and its characters. Overall, *All The Shadows We Become* is a gripping read filled with suspense, mystery, and romance that promises to please fans of the genre and perhaps convert those uneasy about sci-fi elements into ardent admirers. **
